[break][break] he glances sideways as there is a shift in the air and wild abomasnow go crunching through the snow several feet away, looking like mythical YETIS in the winter storm.

[break][break] "i just wanted to talk," he says, glancing over at the other. "i feel like it's been a while since we've been able to." maybe it was a private desire of his. after all, Cillian Quinn was the one he trusted the most in rocket. fern delaney included.

[break][break] "but you're right. how was mt. pyre?"

[break][break] he'd read the reports, of course, but it was nice to hear the experience first-hand.

the information was cursory; jayden had gone over every report that he was capable going over, though the paperwork on his desk continued to be ever-mounting. it seemed that as each of their members healed up proper, they were able to submit more information regarding the series of events.

[break][break] still, he appreciated hearing it fresh from his mentor's mouth.

[break][break] "do we know where winter's body is?" he asks. jayden had never met father winter up close and personal, not the way that many other members of their organization had. not the way mint frost. he wondered if they'd have a funeral for him, though it seemed unlikely because it wasn't as if the drk triad was a member of their organization. still, jayden presumed that their scientists would be able to find information in the autopsy. unless there wasn't one.

[break][break] "yes," jayden says with a nod of confirmation. "MATIAS SILPH also showed up, along with groudon." his face twists into something hate-filled at the memory, as if he still resented that he hadn't been able to attack him directly. he was still grateful for Alexandra Briarwood's intervention. "before we could capture him, however, the drk triad showed up again — " and if Cillian Quinn read jayden's report, he would know that he had tried to attack chef quanto, and had gotten kicked by the legendary in the process. "along with dialga."

[break][break] "we grappled with the league for a while, as well as chef quanto, before the megalopolans lended their aid like they said they would."

[break][break] he still remembers the raw feeling of power that the kartana had lended him. it pulses through him even now, tingling in his fingertips, as he clutches his hand into a fist.

[break][break] he sighs.

[break][break] "dialga is also missing but at least we were able to secure the energy source," he says, referring to Zev Harcourt's seizure of the primal crystal, which he was sure his mentor knew about. "but i can't help but feeling like i wish we did more."

[break][break] after all, they hadn't captured littleroot, not the way that bryan delarosa wanted. and the league seemed as powerful as ever, especially with the addition of MATIAS SILPH into their avatar ranks.

[break][break] he takes a breath, steadying himself.

[break][break] instead, he decides to divert the conversation, brow furrowed. "dialga looked different than what i've seen in history books. though i suppose all legendaries look different up-close." he was referring to his mentor's patron; who would have thought shadow lugia a possible existence? he certainly wouldn't have, if he hadn't seen her in person so many times.

[break][break] his fingers brush against his own cheek, where a bruise is still blooming from the legendary's attack.

[break][break] "i'm glad for admin Felix Gallagher and admin Elisabeth Fiorelli interference — if not for them, i would probably be squashed thin."

Unfortunate. Jayden nods alongside his mentor, frowning in agreement. With not knowing where Winter was, it made it all that more difficult. After all, if his body fell into the hands of the League... that was just one more thing that they had to be on the lookout for.

[break][break] "Yes," Jayden says, though his eyes grow steely at the mention of MATIAS SILPH. It was a disappointment, too, that Groudon had chosen the Elite Four who had ended Chu-e Choi's life, but it changed little for him.

[break][break] Underneath SPECTRA, he and Felix Gallagher would end him, the same way that they would do to Katherine Fairburne. He rubs a shoulder absently, as they cross the space of the frosty tundra.

[break][break] He blinks.

[break][break] "Wait, that's exactly what he looked like at Littleroot."

[break][break] This time, Jayden's brow furrows in thought as he considers this new piece of information. Then it was confirmed then - that the beast he saw at Littleroot really was Dialga, and that not only that, it meant that the DRK Triad had control of it. Though had was probably an important factor there — they needed to find them again before the League did.

[break][break] He turns his gaze upon Gavin, then.

[break][break] Jayden blinks. The memory that was once long-forgotten unfurls at the scenario that Gavin explains to him. However, in his case, instead of standing on a porch, he was in his bedroom when he'd been pulled into the stream of Hoenn history.

[break][break] "I saw — my past, my future, all at once." He bites his lip. "I saw my parents lowered into their casket, and Chu-e Choi when I first met him."

[break][break] "I thought it was a dream."

[break][break] Even dahlia goode being taken by the beast that he now knew now was a Nihilego. Had that been real too?

[break][break] He shakes his head.

[break][break] "Has Dialga been on Hoenn all this time?"

[break][break] to be honest, it had been a blur of events and he had been such a different person than he was now that it could quite possibly have been different.

[break][break] at this point, his history was tied so intrinsically to hoenn's that it might as well have been one and the same.

[break][break] after a beat of silence, jayden contemplates his mentor's words.

[break][break] "do you think there are two lugias?" or for that matter, two of any legendary pokemon. jayden knew that there was some evidence that confirmed it to be true, but there was also a difference in having two legendaries roaming and... "or twin avatars?"

he had heard as much about Xerneas, but the news about Suicune was a surprise to him. then again, jayden knew that there were people much more informed about legendaries than he was. his mentor was one such person.

[break][break] "precisely," he said, voice contemplative. he didn't know much about declan walsh and Lulu Flint's relationship, but it provided an interesting relationship to investigate, should both parties be willing. "i wonder how many more possibilities they are."

[break][break] did they have equal hold, or was it like a game of tug of war — both ends of the rope taut, because the other couldn't stop pulling?

[break][break] curiosity flickers in his gaze at the casual mention of Lulu Flint's name — but perhaps because Cillian Quinn had once been in the science division, he had a closer relationship with their head scientists than most. jayden dismisses it easily.

[break][break] "good point. i had forgotten." jayden contemplates his mentors words. he had not been privy to the moment in the cyberspace where yveltal's past had appeared but he had read the reports on it. it was concerning.

[break][break] "i wonder if a single world could handle the strength of two of the same legendary — or would that destabilize our world even further?"

[break][break] the contemplation is said under his breath more than anything else, looking around at their frost surroundings. he thinks about what mint frost had said during the last rocket table, wondered if kyurem or hoopa could possibly be anywhere close.

[break][break] "i'm concerned about dialga and palkia being let loose in this world. if they're here roaming still, then that means the drk triad will be too."
